Please, introduce yourself?

I am a photographer living in the south west of France. For a few years now I have collaborated with architects and landscape agencies (based in Bordeaux for most of them) and developed a body of work concerned with the photographic documentation of architecture and landscape.

Besides commissioned work, I dedicate my personal photography to several ongoing projects, all of them revolving more or less to the same matters of landscape and its interrelation to built environment.

How did you find your way into the field of Architecture and Photography?

After graduating from Photography School, I studied architecture. This was really when I started to question the role and use of image in Architecture representation and conception processes. I was lucky to interact and share ideas with several architects then.

Amongst them, “L’Atelier Provisoire” (Bordeaux based studio) who I collaborated with for a few months during my course. They commissioned my first series and I have been working as a photographer for architecture since.

What is the essence of architecture for you personally?

Materiality.

«Japanese Materiality»

This series was shot during a trip to Japan last fall. These photos illustrate the refine use of materials and light in Japanese architecture and the permanence of the vernacular in both modern and contemporary Japanese architecture.
