About

Kontextur (kntxtr) is an international platform operating at the intersection of architecture, the built environment and society. Based in Leipzig and Berlin, it was founded in 2017 as a digital space for new forms of architectural exchange. Since 2019, the platform has been run by Katharina Benjamin and Angelika Hinterbrandner, who curate and publish interviews, essays, podcasts, studio lists and formats like the kntxtr Podcast Festival.

Kontextur is both a publishing project and a curatorial practice: With an active international community following the social media channels, Kontextur has become a polyphonic voice in architectural discourse. The platform responds to societal shifts and disciplinary blind spots through well-researched content and experimental publishing formats – ranging from salary discussions and studio lists to political interviews and longform podcast episodes.
